- Summary: The 5000 Year Leap
- Comment: The endorsements on the back cover, encourage this book to be included in both high school and college cirriculum. It's an eye opener to anyone, even those, like me, that had studied US History in high school and minored in US History in college. This book gives great insight into the founding fathers, their intent in writing the consitution and other historical documents and puts in perspective what the intended role of our congressional, juditial and presidential leadership was.
The author points out that we have lost our way. I'm sure some will read this a politically biased but I think he did a wonderful job of stating historical facts and has the research documented to back it up.
Wonderful, educational, inspiring and convicting. A read required by every citizen wether born here or naturalized!!

- Summary: Feels good but empty
- Comment: I read this as a young man. I was a mormon growing up and since Skousen was Mormon too I just ate up his ideas. There is a lot of mormon doctrine woven in the text. But the problem with the book is that he often exaggerates and cherry picks the data to support his preconceived ideas. I think it is fine to read but make sure you check the source for accuracy.
